The Tax Office is assuring residents affected by recent severe storm activity in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Central Queensland and surrounding areas they don’t need to worry about their tax at this time.
Tax Commissioner Michael D’Ascenzo said this is a difficult time for many residents in the storm affected areas.
“I understand that many people have other priorities to focus on at the moment,” Mr D’Ascenzo said.
“Anyone having problems meeting their tax obligations because of the storms, or who has recently received a letter or notice from the Tax Office, should call us on 13 11 42 to make arrangements that meet their particular circumstances.
“Tax agents can make arrangements on behalf of affected clients by calling us on 13 72 86.”
